Construction has begun on Touchmark at Emerald Lake, a new retirement community located in McKinney, Texas, designed by Dallas-based architecture firm Three.

Touchmark at Emerald Lake will sit on 81 acres, on a hilltop overlooking the property’s lake. Along with a range of outdoor activity spaces, multiple dining and refreshment venues will feature indoor and outdoor overlook seating, ideal for conversations centered on dining experiences.

Touchmark at Emerald Lake’s first phase is expected to open in 2023, with 149 independent living apartment homes, six casitas (duplex residences), 84 assisted living residences, and 32 memory care residences.

A future phase will add a health and fitness center with a pool, spa, salon, and dining, along with more homes, bringing the retirement community’s total number to more than 400.

The project team includes Andres Construction as the general contractor, interior design by StudioSIX5, Kimley-Horn as the civil engineer, and landscape design by Talley Associates. Touchmark project executive Mike Harral will manage the development and construction.
