Mikko Kuusakoski, Head of Data and Analytics at YIT, talks about Maria 01, a development project in Helsinki that will boost the European startup ecosystem.
Maria is an
old hospital block that in 2016 was turned into a startup campus. Today, it houses
over 100 startups and has 1,100 members. In 2018, the members raised 92 million
euros in funding.
After the new
development, the campus will be one of the largest in Europe. It will have 70,000
square meters for over 650 companies, from startups to major tech corporations
and institutions. The first phase of the development will complete in 2022.
